Well folks, another year of hoppin’ is officially in the books. Today marks four years of writing about cocktails, beer, spirits, bars, and restaurants – and perhaps most importantly, the talented professionals behind them. I’m looking forward to Year 5 and I hope you’ll continue to be part of it. As I’ve said in the past, I don’t publish these anniversary posts as a means to congratulate myself. They’re simply an opportunity to mark the passage of time and to express my sincere gratitude to all the wonderful people who make this such an interesting and satisfying endeavor. And there are many of you.
As the S.S. BarHopper steams ahead, I am resolved to make this year the best one yet. There’ll be visits to trendy and not-so-trendy places, old familiar haunts, and regional distilleries and breweries. I’ve also got a couple of new features to try out, like Vinyl Night and the Tasting Room.
The biggest change – hopefully – will be to the appearance and functionality of this site. I think it’s time to give BBH a makeover, or at least a few cosmetic touches. Plus, I realize the site isn't very mobile-friendly, and I definitely need to fix that. I haven’t begun that process yet, but I figure that by announcing my plans like this, I might feel compelled to actually follow through with them. (Incidentally, if you’re reading this and you do that kind of work, feel free to shoot me an email.)
Anyway, thank you so much for reading. Maintaining this site is as fun as it is challenging, and knowing that people stop by and spend a few minutes of their day means the world to me.
Cheers!
Matt
